Getting our kicks on Route 66!

This picture went off when we were running away from the donkeys.
These two pictures were the first couple of seconds. Tayton liked this part but as soon as the other 8 donkeys came he was done. I wish I could have gotton some pictures of the 10 donkeys but I had to pick Tayton up so they wouldn't step on him.

I have to tell you about mine and Taytons trip last weekend. Levi had to work so we decided we would go to Oatman, Arizona. It is about a 1/2 hour away from where we live, it is a tiny town right on Route 66. We got there and Route 66 was closed because there was a wedding in the middle of the road. The person that married them was dressed like a bank robber or something I don't know. When he pronounced them man and wife they started shooting guns up in the air. I wasn't sure if it was a real wedding or not but it was. It was the funniest wedding I had ever seen.

Anyway in this little town they have donkeys that just run wild. The stores sell carrots so I thought it would be a fun idea to go feed the donkeys. Well we pulled out the carrots and about 10 donkeys surrounded us. The carrots were gone in about 10 seconds. Then the donkeys decided they weren't done. They started biting Taytons shirt, pants, my purse, and my butt! It was kind of scary. I started running down Route 66 to get away from the donkeys but they just kept following us. Tayton started crying and I didn't know what to do. (I had never been chased by hungry wild donkeys before.) Luckily we ran into one of the stores and Tayton said good they can't eat us in here. It was pretty funny. We waited about 5 minutes in the store until another fool with carrots came and they started to attack them. It was really funny to watch. So be careful if you are every cruisin on Route 66. Don't feed the donkeys! We had a great time though.

Merry Christmas

Season Greetings!

For Family night we went to the chocolate factory in Henderson where they have a big cactus garden. The have lights everywhere. It is so pretty. I have never seen cactus's with lights on them. I feel bad for the people who have to put the lights on and off, ouch. Tayton had so much fun. He loves the lights!

Pictures of Tayton

Here is a picture of Tayton helping dad install childproof latches on our cabinets. He loves to do whatever Dad is doing, and he especially loves tools! He is holding a screwdriver and he knew just what to do with it. And yes I really do feed my child if you are wondering. He just burns it off as fast as he takes it in. This it bad boy Tayton. He loves to get into Levis old police academy uniforms. He said he really wants to be a cop so he can drive a bad boy truck! Just like I said he wants to be just like dad.

Police Academy

Here is some pictures of what Levi has been doing this past year. Here is a picture of him in his uniform. Whenever Tayton sees him in his uniform he calls him Bad Boy Daddy. (We like to watch Cops a lot.)This is Levi getting a special award during his graduation ceremony. Levi got this award for saving a mans life. We were driving home one night and Levi turned around because he saw a fire on the other side of the road. He thought it was a brush fire and was just going to call the fire dept. It ended up that a drunk driver had rolled his car and it had caught on fire. Levi and another man pulled this guy out of his burning vehicle and about 5 seconds after they pulled him out the entire car was on fire. I am so proud of Levi. The Governor of Nevada heard about this story and wanted to recognize Levi. He signed the award and they gave it to Levi at his graduation ceremony. Way to go super hero Levi!

Here is Levi getting pepper sprayed, doesn't it look like so much fun!

The Winwards

Hello,
I am a first time blogger and lets be honest I don't really know what I am doing. We decided we would try it so that way we can keep in touch with our friends and family. Tayton is 2 1/2 and still full of energy. He loves pirates, trains, and anything that has to deal with sports. For those of you who don't know we moved to Henderson, NV last January. It has been quite an adventure living in the Las Vegas Valley, it never gets boring here.
Levi got a job as a game warden! He loves it. Every time I tell someone Levi is a game warden in Las Vegas they always ask which casino he works at. I think it is funny. But for those of you who don't know what a game warden does, they enforce the boating and wildlife laws. Levi had to go through the police academy. The police academy was 20 weeks long and is just like boot camp. He loved getting yelled at for 20 weeks, and he said that being pepper sprayed was a lot worse than being tazered. (I don't ever want to find that out myself so I will take his word on it.) So now he is Officer Winward! He is glad that field training is almost over, he has been in training for almost a year. So now we get to move again! I am not to excited about moving. We are moving to Laughlin, NV. It is 90 miles south of Las Vegas and right on the border of California and Arizona. It gets even hotter down there than Vegas. I didn't know anywhere could be hotter than here. So if anyone is planning to visit make sure you come in the winter when it is enjoyable. We hope to be in Laughlin for about a year and then we would love to move up to Northern Nevada. We miss the snow.
We hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving and we miss you all. Keep in touch!
